Mountains Within was born to create a space for the trekking and running communities in Bangalore to come together, to plan treks and runs and holidays, to share ideas, and, to learn from and lean on each other. Additionally, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to provide outdoor lovers with the best choices in gear.
Our experience center opened its doors in Bangalore to customers on June 1st 2024 and has plans to host events through the year to help foster and develop an enhanced community spirit with outdoor lovers in the city.
Mountains Within endeavors to provide the community with professional guidance, expert consultation and workshops on fitness, trekking, running and mountaineering. Our approach is holistic, and we want to ensure that you are fully prepared and confident in your outdoor pursuits.
Doors opened at 12 noon, June 1st, 2024, with former member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, Mrs. Vinisha Nero doing the honors at cutting the ribbon, which was symbolically purple, in line with the store logo. Her opening speech touched upon women-in-leadership, entrepreneurship, community engagement, travel and fitness. Delighted shoppers, dignitaries, friends and family were in the mix to witness the occasion and sales began to ring up!
The store was designed by Ostraca, a Bangalore based design firm and is crafted in wood and metal with a rugged, open vibe. Most merchandise is displayed on wooden shelves and metal clothes racks, an interesting addition for merchandise display are the bamboo and twine clothes racks that are reminiscent of jungle grill pits and packing crates that are strewn across the floor. The imagery is reflective of treks and runs, and the display is uncluttered and easy on the eye. A wooden slatted rope bridge slung across the display window, invites imagery of the famous rope bridges that one encounters on base camp treks in Nepal. There are two designated planning and consulting areas where customers can design and plan their holidays and get a coffee and consult as well.
